I may be allowed to use OpenOffice.org for my upcoming exams, but I need to disable the spell checking, does anybody know how to do this?

Well, if it's like NeoOffice (Macs at work), I believe you go to Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids.

Were you just looking to get rid of the automatic spell check? I'm not particularly fond of the layout and names of all the options in OpenOffice. :?

Try Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids and under 'options', uncheck 'check spelling as you type'.

Oughta work.

Edit: There's also an icon in the main toolbar that will turn off the autospell--right next to the spellcheck icon.
