Liberation Fonts available (metric equivalent of MS fonts)

I've got a few installed on my Slackware install--they look pretty good. "Liberation Sans" is what Helvetica should have been all along.

I've actually always thought Linux has had the best fonts on any operating system. Windows fonts always looked too "skinny" to me, and OS X fonts look too fat.

I have no idea about Mac fonts (other than the default), but for all the positives that Linux brings to the table, Helvetica is one of the ugliest. Too bad it's the default on a lot of apps, tho'.

DejaVu is fine for me, looks great in every application and is the most complete font I have found (so you can view those crazy chinese characters even if you can't read them

).
