Well, Steve probably didn't write it. It was probably a Marketdroid.

AIX has been able to execute 32 bit and 64 bit binaries side by side since day one and this has been going on for about 5 years....maybe longer. AIX has been 64 bit since the Power 3 and Power 6 is now trickling out. AIX has ALWAYS had the ability to run both 32 and 64 apps simultaneously. Linux also has the same ability.

FreeBSD has also had the ability to run 32 bit apps on 64 bit, i am sure the other BSDS have too.
