Would this be a good enough reason for pat to buy a MAC?

Why do people put it in all caps, as if it is an acronym?

For the same reason say things like NIC card or want to type their PIN mumber into the ATM machine.

But Mac isn't an acronym.

In another context it is:
Media Access Control
Mandatory Access Control

Because APPLE is so great, all the letters in all superior APPLE products are required to be capitalized all the time.

OK, how about this - because people are stupid.

It surprises me a moderator would make comments with a nose in the air attitude toward members in their own community. Perhaps you could say some of us are somewhat misguided by the hardcore snobby fanboys apparently in all forms of computer science.
So I blame it on acronym invasion something that I have had to deal with every day of my life while sitting these past 15 years in front of this PC. Things like MAC, GNU, BSD, SSH, TTY, SOAP, NET, GL, API, CAD, POSIX, FIFO, PID, PERL, POP, OOP, and on and on and on.
OR I could BLAME it on my typing TOURETTE'S syndrome, and a Freudian SLIP of my own oppressed love for MAC'S.

A) I don't represent the community in any way - I offered to help delete bogus spambot accounts a while back, and so far, except for locking one thread that was going downhill fast, that's all i have done as a moderator/admin.
B) You started a thread that was intended to piss off people who use Macintosh computers by linking to a picture where one is placed next to a toilet. Who has their nose in the air and who is a fanboi? It's, frankly, surprising to me you'd start a thread like this one and be surprised to get a little pushback.
C) Lighten up - I wasn't singling you out - I was responding to a post that pointed out, correctly, that for some reason lots of people type MAC instead of Mac. If my commentary affected your day, sorry.

Dude, it's bad form to criticize the other shows on other peoples boards. If you have a legitimate beef with them maybe you should post on their forum?
