Oracle 11g ships first on Linux, not Microsoft Windows

Oracle on Wednesday released the Linux version of its new Oracle 11g database -- the first major upgrade to Oracle's database line in two years.
The company has yet to say when a Windows-compatible version of the software, which is widely used by Fortune 500 companies, will be available.
