I used to run a version of Debian on the Nintendo GameCube a couple years back. That was a bit of a hack, which involved executing code over the local network through an exploit in Phantasy Star Online. Once you got in, you could boot the Linux kernel using NFS, and SSH into the system, or you could even directly load NES and Genesis emulators on it. Cool stuff.
