Hey I want to get a subscription to a good linux magazine but I don't know which is best. I want something for someone experienced with Linux with news, reviews, and how-tos. Just wondering what everyone else likes and even doesn't like.

I've always liked Linux Journal myself. The last time I renewed they were running a 2 year subscription special of $20. Pretty damm good. Not that the other publications are crap but we've kindda made friends with some of their people (Doc & Marcel) as well. Besides it's one of the oldest if not the oldest linux related publication around.

Yeah, LJ is great if you like a mix of involved programming examples/practices, reviews of new software/hardware, and knowledgeable commentary.

I really like the UK magazines (in addition to LJ and LM): Linux Format, Linux User & Developer & Linux Magazine. The downside, they are $13-15 a pop in the US.

Sometimes they seem to have overlapping articles, maybe not in the same month.

Don't forget Linux Gazett, or both of them: http://www.linuxgazette.net and www.linuxgazette.com

You can subscribe from the US (for Linux Format, at least), which might be cheaper?
