Hello Jason,

Currently our site does not support Linux. We are constantly looking
for better ways to serve our customers. At this time though, there does
not seem to be enough people using Linux to warrant a rapid change.
This does not mean we are not going to make changes, simply that it is
not a priority.

I was having trouble with the main page and possibly flash. When I would
click in the login fields it kept going to the SMUD Video page. I had to
click the residential tab to finally be able to login and pay my bill.
It may be that you aren't testing for Linux, Firefox and Flash for
Linux? You can easily setup virtual machines with some of the most
popular Linux distros (Ubuntu, Fedora,
openSUSE...) to use for testing the website if you aren't already.

OS: Fedora 7
Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.8
Flash for Linux: 9.0.48.0

It does the same thing in Firefox under Windows as well. It does work in IE though so that is all that matters.

If you make Linux the point, you'll probably not get any help. If you just tell them you're using Firefox, they might listen. They're not going to care about Linux (since that's not the issue), but they may care about the fact that their site is not accessable to people not using Internet Explorer.

Their site doesn't need to "support Linux," but if they would support reasonable standards and not rely on flash for their site to work, it wouldn't matter.

Of course, my local ISP only supports Internet Explorer for a lot of its "value added" content and features, so it's not uncommon.
