That video brought back a lot of memories. I was working in a small family owned west side Houston store selling computers and also teaching part time at a local college. I was even lucky enough to write code for some of the Commodore programs back then. Although we did not sell the Apple, we did sell the Franklin and everything else. We sold software for about everything electronic at that time. I remember the bulletin board wars also . We used to have to keep the hotheads of each faction apart when they came into the store. First there was the Atari 800/xe people vs Commodore 64/128 which graduated to the Amiga vs Atari ST war. We were one of the first stores to sell the Atari ST and the Amiga 1000. The Amiga never really sold that much, I sold a ton of Atari ST's. Atari gave us a bonus to sell the machines for a while. Commodore never did that with the Amiga. We eventually started selling x86 clones. My boss became a personal friend of the Tramiels. Now, I wish I had a camera to have taken a picture of all the people who came to our store. They were all just regular guys back then.

Yeah, it's always hard to tell when something is history in the making. I grew up around many people who eventually became "visionaries" or industry leaders, and all I have to show for it are a handful of silly stories.
