I have an old Power Mac G4 with Gentoo on it, although it doesn't get much use anymore. It's old, slow, and makes a lot of noise while sucking up power.

I have a Mac mini G4, which runs OpenBSD. I know you said "Linux" specifically, but I guess that could also be interpreted as a free software OS.

Yes bsd can be included. I did not mention it, so as to not offend anyone. I have a imac g3 running debian and a tower g3 running ubuntu gutsy. When family comes over, I sometimes remove the hard drives and use them as extra thin clients to connect to the ltsp server via netboot. The imac is easy to move around the house. So it is used probably more often. The tower stays in the closet most of the time. With a spare drive, I would like to try slackware or bsd to see if there is any performance improvement.
