Hi all, I am looking for some recommendations. I need a multimedia device with a stereo line in tha I can use to record local music events. I already have a preamp. I had been using a Samsung YH-820 but it needs winbloz. When my son was in college he had a dual boot laptop that I had been using to get my recordings off with. He graduated and moved so I no longer have access to winbloz. I would like something that plays all formats espcially ogg and mp3. I think 512m would be sufficent but a gig or more would be better.(flash or hard drive) I need it to work with linux. It would be great if it would be seen as a hard drive. I would also like it to encode to MP3 while recording. The only other thing I would like is for it to be inexpensive(cheap). I have searched ebay and seen many. I would prefer new but am not opposed to an ebay special. I am not sure what brand, models meet my needs. I don't want to buy one only to find out later it won't work with linux or doesn't play ogg, etc. I think iRiver use to have several but I have not kept up with specs for a while now. I did not see one with line in. For some reason iRiver is not sold locally any longer so I can't go down and check one out.

Will anyone make a recommendation?
