I would like to know if Kget works on your new eeePC. Kget is a must have item for me.

Before committing to a yes, I want to add that I used the debian etch kget and it hemmed and hawed about dependencies not being met. That being said, it worked.

I think I need to get the xandros repositories or switch to ubuntu.

I don't mean to sound like a FUDist, but aren't Xandros' repos sort of like Linspire's Click'n'Run in the sense that you pay for access to them? Or is that just for their "Pro" desktop product ?

Wonder if you used sarge repositories it would spare you the messages...I don't believe Xandros is know for being on the cutting edge. If Kget was on my N800 life would be good!

While I like and use kget, I can't say it's ever made its way into my "must have list." What feature of kget do you find indispensable?

I tried the xandros repositories and got the same thing. I think there is a special, compile of KDE for the eeePC. Again, it compained bout version issues but installed without a problem.

All the places I have seen indicate that Xandros is built from etch.

Kget has always just worked for me and I use it a lot. It also works really well as the download manager for Konqueror.
