The overall size should remain the same since the Eee PC 900 will use the same case as the current 700 series
That's got to be wrong info about it being the same size because you can see in the pic that the 9" one has a larger case and a larger touchpad.

I suspect they may be the same width and depth, but a bit longer to accommodate the larger screen and touchpad.

Screen resolution on the new 9" is 1024 x 600

That's going to make surfing a whole lot better experience. I hope the price isn't that much more.

Yeah, I've been watching this and I am definitely going to get one. I've been holding out for these 8.9" screens and it looks like a nice upgrade.

Here's the first video of it.

They quote a price of $600 USD in the video. I hope it ends up selling for less than that. I don't think I can justify spending $200 more for it than a base Dell 15"er even if the eee PC is 1/3 the size and half the weight.

True, that is probably too high. But, consider the new version also comes with 1gb ram and 8gb or 12gb onboard flash. If you were to buy the 4G at $400, and add memory, sd card(s) you might get close to $500. Then you're spending $100 on the larger screen and the higher resolution camera. Still probably too much, though.

According to this blog, more details have come out. Apparently, the new version will be $499, not $600. Also, later versions of the 900 will have an intel cpu instead of the via.

From that blog...
As for the redesign, if it’s anything like ECS’s UMPC, they’ll have a winner (or a lawsuit) on their hands. Right now, ECS wins on looks alone.
I think I would go for the ECS, even though it's a little bigger, to get that 11" screen for the same price.

FCC teardown pics for the new 900 shows built-in bluetooth. That's a handy new feature.

It will also have "multi-finger gesture input," which will apparently provide the ability to zoom in, zoom out, and do familiar two-finger scrolling on the newly resized trackpad.

That's still the old 7"er.
Edit: Oh, I see that for some reason Microcenter used a pic of the new 9"er on that 8G Galaxy product page.
