good sites for switch setup

For our little private school a student just donated extreme summit24 and a cisco 2924xl switches. I have the cables for the serial port on the back of the switches, but no manuals. Are there any good web sites that make the setup of these babies easy without spending thousands of dollars or several semesters of time for the classes?

I feel your pain. When I started playing around with 3com and Cisco switches I could find practically nothing. There is a dearth of information on routers, but not the switches. Top that off with the fact that cisco likes to change the ios for every different device and it is a nightmare.

I woud recommend going to the summit and cisco sites and pulling down the documentation and manuals that you can find for those systems. That should get you started. If you have basic networking knowledge you should be up and running in a short period of time. Having a *Nix background is very helpful too.

Basically, stick the product name and cisco into google, and usually the first several hits will contain something.
