Hello I am probly going to get MythTV however I must know if DirectTV will work with it and if there is any affordable way to stream the video over my wifi network so I don't have to have a huge cord coming from my tv to my computer. Also my graphics card sucks, with a MPEG2 (de)encoder card would I be able to play back movies correctly? (I plan on getting a new graphics card for my birthday in october)

I hear it will work with DirectTV. I have Dish Network and it worked for me. You'll probably need an IR blaster to trick the reciever in thinking you're changing the channels from the remote. This guys sells them for about $15:

As far as video cards you don't need much horse power for playback. It's encoding that's the beast. The Hauppauge cards work well especially if you have a slow CPU. I ran mine with an 800mhz pentium III. As far as wireless networking, you'll need 802.11g. B ain't gonna do it for you.
