I haven't been able to get to Dave's site for many days now. Anybody know what the server and channel is for his IRC room?

Maybe Dave's Sparc box took a header?

Dave says in the topic that his DSL is down until mid week due to thunderstorms. So I'm guessing a lightning strike on telco equipment. At least it is just the internet connection. The developer that does the ham program fldigi lost all his computers due to a lightning strike a few weeks ago.

Wrong. I got the true story. Dave got a hankering for Carolina bbq and some moonshine. So he's eatin and drinking and eatin and drinking and come to find out he has to take a massive crap. He gets the worst case of mud butt ever and the smell is just awful. So he figures he better light a match in case the misses needs to use the facility. Well all that moonshine just went right through him, escaping in vapors. He struck the match and boom! The outhouse explodes like a rocket flying right into the telephone pole. Down it comes on the chicken coop and catches on fire. Quick thinking Dave runs over to piss the fire out only his wiz is like 90% moonshine. He's spraying all over the yard like a flame thrower and the dry grass goes up burning his poor dogs, the chevy on cinderblocks in the front yard and his auto parts.

Once they got the s. carolina wild fire put out they made arrangements to come in and replace the telephone pole. Never-the-less, the misses was pissed. So daveyates has been in the dog house ever since. He was allowed out to church to repent for his sins.

That my friends, is the true story as to what happened to his website.

Thanks for the insights Dann. Being a Yankee I don't always understand all the intricacies and nuances of the "southern lifestyle" of Appalachian Americans.
