Microsoft's new $300 million campaign (one of Redmond's largest ever) is set to launch with a $10 million assist from "key celebrity pitchman" Jerry Seinfeld. Yes, Bill Gates will appear as well -- the once maligned, rich corporate nerd turned adorable, rich humanitarian nerd. The campaign is said to based on the idea of "Windows, Not Walls," stressing the need to "break down barriers that prevent people and ideas from connecting." Something we think open-sourcers might have a laugh at.

Bill Hicks is a legend, Chris rock's humour is different, sure not everything he says is funny, but i think he is pretty funny at times.

I doubt it,. they are just spouting buzz words to to keep up appearances. It is ironic that on the Seinfeld set that it usually brandished mac computers. Jerry must be in it just for the money. If he really knew anything about computers, he might not do it. As many people who disdain vista, I wonder if it will have a backfire effect on his working as a comedian? As for fixing vista instead of the commercial, I think MS as given up on vista for the most part. They are spending a few programmer dollars on windows seven to allegedly get it working. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

What an annoying commercial. It seems like it's trying to be too hip for the room. Comes off as too full of itself. Gates and Seinfeld seem too full of themselves. The whole thing was full of shit.

I showed this to my wife and we both said "Huh?" While entertaining it really had nothing to do with Windows Vista or even MS products other than that half-assed comment at the end which did not fit too well with the rest of the story being told. But what do I know. Hey, at least they sold me on shoes and churros.

Too bad Rodney Dangerfield or Henny Youngman isn't around anymore.
