Have you guys considered doing a segment on installing/configuring/using fluxbox? It'd be useful to those of us who are interested in trying new stuff out, but don't have hours to dedicate to greping and groping through how-tos. That is the WM of choice, or at least a popular WM amongst you folks, isn't it?

I would like to second a segment on that. I'm thinking of seting up an old 500 Pentium as a webserver, and would like an x environment for development purposes, and Fluxbox seems like a great choice.
- What is the format for altering the menus?
- How do you add icons like Damn Small or a Launch Bar like Linc has?
- Is there any way to do automatic detection for a flash storage devise in Fluxbox (something that gives similar funtionality to KDE which just flashs an icon on the desktop)?

I think we can do that for ya! I tricked out my flux box pretty decently.

Saw this article today from Michael Jordan (not the basketball player):

Yeah - I saw that too which is what prompted the post. What I'm specifically interested in is, like mowestusa mentioned, tricking it out and making it functional for daily use. Linc's screenies always look sweet.

Well, both you and Mowestusa should listen tomorrow night then. I'll go through a couple of quickie fluxbox "improvements"

Dann thanks for talking about this on the show a few weeks ago (i believe it was). I've been using quicksilver on my mac for awhile now and love it. I moved my Ubuntu box from gnome to fluxbox because of fbrun that I had no idea existed. The only thing I am trying to get to work is to get the keys file to use my spacebar key. Is there a weird Mod# like there is for alt?
Thanks

my configuration is thus:
Mod1 space :execCommand fbrun
I put that in my keys file in .fluxbox
Works across all my systems, even ppc.
