Canonical Store

I did not know the Canonical store was up and running. It's interesting to see that they are selling PowerDVD and the Fluendo Codecs. This is a good thing, in my opinion, but it stinks that we have to jump through so many hoops to play DVD's. Well, that is to say everyone has to jump through hoops to play DVD's on a computer; it's ridiculous.

They also have Parallels, Cyberlink PowerDVD player (legal player) and IBM DB2. It's good that they're getting into this. This is basically what Linspire's store did. It's interesting that they chose the Cyberlink DVD player instead of Adobe's LinDVD that came with my Dell. They should definitely add the following apps:
Lotus Notes 8.5
Citrix ICAClient
CiscoVPN
Oracle
Clearcase (IBM's source versioning application)
PowerTerm
Moneydance
DemoRecorder

A commercial ecosystem around Linux is essential (especially for desktop apps) for it's survival and growth.
