VLC 0.9.2 was just released and has support for dirac:

Excellent news! I heard you guys talk about this on the last TLLTS episode. The more unencumbered codecs that are made available, the better. One can only hope that the uptake in acceptance of this codec will be better since it is coming from the BBC which everyone knows about. I still get weird looks from people when I mention Ogg to them. As much as I do like Ogg, I wonder if the lack of a known presence behind it is what's affected its uptake.

I'm sure I'm totally wrong in my assumption, but just a random thought. :mrgreen:
