Apparently they're upping the number of developers working on Android on their handsets from 50 to 350. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing what the others vendors will offer with Android.

An update:

So basically they're ditching window mobile for the time being and concentrate solely on Android. Currently Motorola is the #4 cell phone manufacturer but is under major stress due to the current economic downturn.

I can't wait....here's hoping maybe something Android-based will show up for AT&T before our contract runs out in the summer. I really don't want to have to get an iPhone, but if that's my only choice....

Side note, did you notice the news about the Sidekick Blade running NetBSD?

I hope to purchase an Android phone around September. I hope that there will be plenty of choices besides just the G1.

We shall see...

About Motorola; I wonder what the cost delta is for them between using Android and Winder's. Naturally for them there are other factors that affect windows adoption. But if Android can successfully link up to the current MS technologies (mail etc) then they could take the market...
