Watchout KDE - Vista has a big ass analog clock too

I just saw this Vista screenshot on engadget and was struck by how similar it looks to the KDE4 desktop.

The review looks fairly balanced , of course reviewing a development tree that changes daily will not show any product that the linux kde community at large will use, but still , its good to see development updates by people outside of the actual development team.

Is it just me, or does Vista just have the worst widgets? I'll take my KDE 3.5.9 widgets anyday.

Bashpodder loads all my podcasts into a single directory hidden by irssi. I have XMMS set to come up when I click on an audio podcast in the Konqueror file browser window. XMMS or Audacity are great simple little players for audio podcasts, as you can use the up/down arrows for volume, left/right to move around in the file. File associations and a good file browser make playing your media easy.
Amarok I use only for music. It's always loaded with what I'm listening to, so I can just hit [WIN]-x to play, [WIN]-c to pause, [WIN]-v to stop.... With the quick keys I only have to pull up Amarok to change what I'm listening to, which is a strength of Amarok with nice filters in a drop down or alphabetical listings. And in my man room, the computer is hooked into a full on surround sound stereo system, and how I listen to music on my stereo. Gigs of music that can easily be pulled up whenever I want. I have one CD tower out with latest purchases, but the rest of my CDs are in storage boxes in the closet. I am starting to move towards Amazon's MP3 store now since they're DRM free and pretty cheap when you buy albums.
