I don't see anything I could draw a conclusion from. Looks like ther version of LAME in Ubuntu 7.04 was pretty fast.
Otherwise it's just apples to oranges. There are way too many variables and too much unspecified to make sense of this.

I had seen this same set of benchmarks in the original article, and I also didn't get much out of it. The only thing that I get is that everyone needs to figure out why Ubuntu 7.04 was so much faster in doing encoding jobs.
The rest of the tests don't show much difference between Fedora and Ubuntu. I like Fedora, and these graphs did not give me reasons to love it more, nor did they give me reason to ditch it for Ubuntu. They also haven't explained why new versions seem to be more hardware demanding than just 2 years ago. So it did not rock my Fedora world.
