Greedy corporations at work. In the end the most negative thing is the PR as they probably made more than the fines in price fixing. The humorous thing is that if they just let it fall to supply and demand they probably would have made more money in increased customer purchases. And I seem to recall that LCD TVs were losing out to Plasmas when they could have probably gained more market share.
