Drm at it's best.

Here is a wonderful little story about a root kit being installed when you buy sony DRM protected cds.

Isn't DRM great. I am glad they are managing my digital rights because I really don't know how and I need all the help I can get.

Well, future version of Mac OS X is gonna be one giant DRM rootkit, it wouldn't surprise me to see Apple and Microsoft embed DRM in the kernel itself, I feel sorry for the Mach kernel and FreeBSD subset that Apple uses.

You said it Pat!

For a little while I considered getting a PowerBook, but now I say no way!!!

Who needs a dual G5 PowerMac when you can build a dual Opteron for less than half the price and just throw FreeBSD and KDE 4.0 (When released) on there.

"It'll be like: Don't go with that OS X stuff, get the real FreeBSD" - Linc on episode 80 during interview with Scott Long.

Ya if this doesn't validate the GPL and the ability to look at source code along with peer review I don't know what does.

I really think these CEO's, lawyers whatever think DRM is a legitimate business model. Just sell them something and have it expire after 3 copies and make them buy it again. Any other product that would do that would have state's attorney generals and the DOJ cracking down on it. But for some reason software/music/movies are exempt.
