Video Diary

I just recently converted my wife's laptop to Kubuntu. She has taken to it like a fish to water. Now I will have a much easier time supporting her. There is one request she has that I need some input on. She likes to keep a diary. She has seen one of her sisters using a video diary on winbloz$. Is there a linux app that will accomplish this? It needs to be pretty foolproof 'cause she is not a real wiz with a computer.

Any ideas or suggestions?

David

Kubuntu should have something similar to Cheese for recording video from a webcam. If anything, you should be able to install Cheese via the repos.

I was directed to guvcview by folks on another forum. It will be easy enough for her to use and it is also easy to append files using kino.

The cheese I installed did not record audio, but guvcview works pretty well. It is in the ubuntu repos.

Thank's for the input.

Very cool! Is it a native Qt application? I'll have to check it out soon.

It is a GTK+ application. Works pretty darn well.
