Well, *I'm* interested. I want to find an alternative to my iPod, and a free(dom) one would be great! I played with the iAudio, and it's pretty good, but I dislike the flat filesystem, and more than that, I dislike the joystick. The weird adapter dongle required to hook it ot anythng is also pretty kludgey - I wasn't impressed with that *at all.* I know they said they were going to fix the flat filesystem issue, but I'm wondering how, with Apple having patented, well, EVERYTHING. It'll be interesting to see how all this stuff plays out.

I got some innovation left - how about creating a player that plays formats that are free from patents and lets the CONSUMER chose what format he/she wants to play and has no DRM. Now that's innovation.

"Most open-source projects do fail because they typically don't have full-time employees, but only a few volunteers who a lot of times are kids," Born said. "We have our own internal engineers and are using open source as a tool to hopefully do some debugging and experimentation."

Umm - this isn't really how to flatter the crowd that you are planning on getting rich off of.
