Google I/O Developer conference starts today

Lots of good things will hopefully come out of this conference including the release date of Android 2.2 and what exactly is Google TV?:

Webm is the project around the release of the VP8 codec under an open source license and it's integration with html5 as the standard for HD video on the web:

Wow, Google just threw down the gauntlet to Apple on numerous fronts. Android 2.2 has leapfrogged anything iphone currently has. GoogleTV looks interesting but it's not my cup of tea. I can see the appeal of it to regular consumers. Google vs Apple is really heating up now.
