Setting up a printer on Damn Small Linux

Last weekend I installed Damn Small on my aunts machine, and wiped the Windows 98, so far it has worked out OK, but I need to install her printer too, I think it's a Canon 3000 something printer. My aunt's computer is an old 133 MHz IBM PC with 64 MB of RAM, pretty dusty, so I have to be careful to get too much overhead on it, but I might need some help on setting this thing up.

Some tips would be greatly appreciated, since I've never actually set up CUPS manually.

Check there for your printer support. There should be links to the correct PPD file for you if it exists. Sometime PPD's for other printers may work too. Trial and Error

Usually I just start cups daemon then go to http://localhost:631. It's pretty intuitive.
