This devices was reported by linux devices and is a great tool for this media frenzee we are going right now. This linux devices is builted exactly for what the GP2X was not
You can load all the Ipod mov and PSP video, cell phones video and all the stuff that companies are pushing right and left with different file formats and just breaking apart every single piece including the content with the DRM.

So were did you see that it breaks down the file formats? According to the article this is merely a bridge to allow you to move content between hand-held devices without having to use your computer.
The article states the device only has playback for mp3 and divx and comes with software to interface with a number of mobile devices. I would think if it could convert between formats it would probably be able to play those formats.
