I have had so many microsoft sponsored studies shoved down my throat it is time we do some shoving ourselves. The problem is with this article that it's sponsored by one of the players in this market, or not directly but OSDL supports open source, and Microsoft supports Microsoft, right? I think we need a 100% independant study of this topic, else it will always be like "Microsoft has studies that Windows has lower TCO" and we in the free- and open source software community have over studies to prove that GNU/Linux or FreeBSD has lower TCO.
I guess you're right, but right now, a lot of the guys that has the power to make the difference between choosing Linux or Windows, believes in Microsoft's studies.... I think it's gonna be hard to convince them to believe in "our" studies.jsusanka wrote:Sorry for the rudeness but when management is so stupid and puts weight into these studies then it is time to fight fire with fire.
