Bashpodder mentioned on Call For Help

I've just watched Call For Help episode 330, and Marcel Gagné was on showing some podcasting clients, and he starts right off saying that listening to podcasts on Linux is very simple, and Bashpodder is very simple one and then goes on to show CastPodder and jPodder.
And no I don't know what BitTorrent is.

I'll have to download that. Man G4 freaking sucks ass. They tease us (in the USA) for a while by bringing back Call4Help and then kill it again. What a bunch of ass clowns! I should play the clip of Leo bad mouthing the exec's at G4. He asked me to remove them hours before the show he was on. He made the comments before he found out that Call4Help was coming back on in the USA in July. Now that it's off again (since early January) I think I'll play them.

You are far too modest. I'm quite happy with it.
I was getting multiple copies of podcasts that use the new apple RSS extensions. I decided to hack the regex in bashpodder to fix the problem.
Once I'd made the fix and tested it, I checked to see if anyone else had suggested such a fix. Looking at the latest bashpodder I found that you were a using XSLT to parse the urls out of the RSS feed. A much better solution that still keeps the program nice and simple.
I also had a rm *
accident and wiped my bp.conf and podcast.log. I had backups, but they were a week old. So I hacked bashpodder to generate a list of urls without actually downloading the files. I deleted all the urls for the podcasts I wanted and put the rest in my podcast.log, and I was back in business. I'm not much of a BASH scripter, but bashpodder is simple enough that just about anybody can hack it.
All hail unreliable bash scripts.
