U.S. Grants Patent For Broad Range Of Internet Rich Apps

Ideas like this belongs to the human race, not one individual. It's not like this guy actually invented the software to do the rich content... just the idea.
Yeah, well I have an idea about hard wiring your mobile phone right into your scull... guess I better go get a patent on that one! I also have an idea of putting a toilet roll dispenser up your own ass... so you don't have to waste time wiping it by hand. Got to get that one patented, too!
Just think where we'd be (or wouldn't be, for that matter) if some Egyptian patented the idea of farming! Give me a break!
My advice to companies like Adobe, Macromedia, and such... get the hell out of the U.S. and establish your business in a country that doesn't issue such ridiculous patents.A patent has been granted to a relatively unknown California Web-design firm for an invention its creator says covers the design and creation of most rich-media applications used over the Internet...

...he will most likely sell the patent rather than enforce it himself. He says he's discussing the sale of the patent to "top-tier players. I don't want to name them but they're fairly obvious, the guys who are investing a lot of money in this rich Internet applications field....
