I can't seem to get the correct time to display on the panel clock. It's 7 hours ahead, and there's no option to adjust the time in the properties. Any ideas?

Type "date" and see if it a problem with Xfce. If it isn't you can manually set it with the "date" command, or you could start /etc/init.d/ntp-client (if you have ntp installed), or you could check it is using the right timezone using "ls -l /etc/localtime" and seeing if it links to your timezone (if your BIOS is set to your local timezone you should use GMT I think)
