Pat,
just listening to the last show and wanted to suggest webmin for Pat.
I use webmin for mysql/postgress access and you can set up different users in it and just give them rights to whatever they need.
just wanted to give it as a suggestion - it is really nice and you can run it on a high port for security reasons.
so I use it for all my database work - and all I need is a browser and you can offload the database stuff to the db's so all they have access to is the database stuff.
anyway - just wanted to offer that up.

Re: the last show
Thanks, there already was a thread about this and webmin was suggested. I will check it out. For now I'm almost done coding my prototype. I haven't done any PHP/Mysql coding in ages and it's really changed a lot since I played with it about 5 years ago. The books I have on the subject are pretty dated so I went picked up "PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites, 2nd Edition" by Larry Ullman. It's a very good book that's very current and has some real world examples. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into LAMP programming.jsusanka wrote:just listening to the last show and wanted to suggest webmin for Pat.
