Well said, to get rid of it for once and all, it can only be done on a international scale because isolation only leads to sheer decline. In other words every country depends on each other in some form or another to exists. It proberly does not need every island in the world to agree but in time they would see the benefits.greggh wrote: Capitalism is a system in which the worker doesn't get what he works to produce. The Capitalist does. The worker doesn't get the profits of what he works for. The Capitalist does. Capitalism is, by it's very nature, the alienation of the worker from what he works to produce.
The German strike in 1919 that almost was a revolution which sadly turned to the worst was a major historic turning point. Had they have taken power, ww2 proberly would not have happened. Because Germany is such a big country it would of no doubt had influence on other countries and had Mussolini and Franco ousted by the population of their respected countries.
Of course this is no guarantee of bliss , we are humans after all and tend to take two steps backwards , one step forward.
Had Trotsky not have been banned , hunted and killed, history may have been a lot better ....
It is very sad to see that labour unions are not like my parents and grandparents knew but mere organisations to prop up the capitalist system with very gradual reforms..

Screw the workers; I'm talking about the business owners. I am the capitalist. You can take your pansy little hand out system and nanny state taxation and jump off a cliff. We are not at all the same. I'm the evil capitolist your were raised to fear.greggh wrote:I know that you think that you are making a defense of Capitalism here, but what you are really doing is attacking it, without even realizing it. I think what's really laughable is trying to tie Obama and the middle east together. That's pitiful. Red necks are all afraid of his name. They should be more afraid of his polotics.dann wrote:Ha ha, that's a good one. Did you really read the article? Nowhere does it say that race is the *only* reason people would vote against Obama. You say that you oppose Obama over politics. Granted. But you can't extrapolate from this and make the claim that no one else is opposing Obama because of his race. Even the most casual perusal of right-wing blogs and their comments will show that racism is still very much a factor, even if, as Cafferty has correctly noticed, it is rarely mentioned in the mainstream press.Patrick wrote:According to Jack Cafferty:

I all I can say is what horse shit. I'm not voting for Obama because he's very liberal and I don't agree with his policies. I would of voted for Colin Powell in a heartbeat. So, race baiting is o.k. if it comes from the left? Again the media shows it's ugly biased face.

I didn't read the article. But if it's just arguing that racism is a factor in people deciding not to vote for Obama than I agree 100%. There's a lot of racism the US. But what country isn't that a factor in? Even Kenya is racist. The Kikuyu and Duo people are constantly persecuting each other. Not that I don't love Kenya, cuz it's like the coolest place ever and I love Bonga Flava, Tanzanian Rap included, but it's the same wherever you are in the world. Humans love to hate each other, simple fact of life, and we need to deal with it somehow.MattKingUSA wrote:I didn't read the article. I agree that Colin Powell is very intelligent. Personally If I had a choice I woud not vote for any of the dingdongs currently running for president. It is time to throw congress, the electoral college and the good old boy network on wall street to the dumpster.
Re: Anyone who doesn't vote for Obama is a racist!
But you are confused. The nanny state taxation that you speak of is there to support the Capitalist, not the worker. It's Nanny State Capitalism. Just take a look at the $85 Bil handout that you and I just gave to the rich Capitalists at AIG. "Too big to fail" is the subsystem of Nanny State Capitalism where the exploited are made to subsidize their own exploitation. This is done with government policies ensuring that the larger the Capitalist becomes, and the more he exploits, the more free he is from risk of ever losing Capital, and only enjoys his freedom to profit.MattKingUSA wrote:Screw the workers; I'm talking about the business owners. I don't have time to explain because I have to leave my computer. But you're comment is way off.
The government shouldn't be stealing from the people to create welfair programs that are unjustified. And companies shouldn't be creating debt that they cannot repay. But perhaps they can't repay them because they are being so heavily taxed in the first place.

Re: Anyone who doesn't vote for Obama is a racist!
From a new Stanford University poll about racial attitudes in the election:
"Deep-seated racial misgivings could cost Barack Obama the White House if the election is close..."
"the percentage of voters who may turn away from Obama because of his race could easily be larger than the final difference between the candidates in 2004..."
"Statistical models derived from the poll suggest that Obama's support would be as much as 6 percentage points higher if there were no white racial prejudice..."
A caveat just for Pat: "Lots of Republicans harbor prejudices, too, but the survey found they weren't voting against Obama because of his race. Most Republicans wouldn't vote for any Democrat for president — white, black or brown."
