A lady I used to work with said she always saw computer techs drinking mountain dew and eating pizza. i said ok?. We went on to talk about something else.... I do like pizza and love to make it from scratch, but I probably i eat more homemade pasta dishes. I like mountain dew, but find myself drinking more and more water or juice. I do go on barq rootbeer binges once in a whiile like today. I have made homemade wine and vinegars, but I really do not drink. .

A few weeks ago, I was on a 1-day school trip to Copenhagen, me and two of my friends skipped out on the communal eating and went to a really awesome Japanese restaurant instead. I ordered a big-ass menu consisting of soup, rice, sukiyaki and an ice cream desert. That was REALLY awesome. That wasn't exactly geek food, but I just thought I'd mention it.

I dated a chinese lady once whose family had a restaurant. I never did like the food there. I was not into chinese food. But one day.I found this restaurant that fixed food like they ate at home instead of trying to americanize it. It was wonderful. I love pepper steak, but I ate moo goo gai pan (chicken and vegetables) there almost everyday for lunch till I moved.

Lately for me it's been sushi heavy on the wasabe. Tastes great and really opens up the sinuses.

Excellent point! Yeah if you want to experience the cuisine of a different culture, you need to go native, and not a weird Java-style of stuff.

The Japanese restaurant that my friends and I went to was really awesome, it was also a family owned restaurant, I think it's been there for like 20 years or something!
It was fitted out to look very Japanese, with raised floors, low tables, you sitting on cushions on the floor and that good stuff. Oh man it was awesome!
And as a bonus, the two waitresses there, HOLY MOLY they were smoking hot! So you can imagine me who generally likes the look of cute Japanese girls, enjoying the view!
Also there were other Japanese people there, business people and that sort of thing, which was cool because you heard people around you actually speaking Japanese.
During the dinner I looked over at a blurred window and saw the reflection of a street light, I closed my eyes for a moment and opened them again and for that very very brief moment felt like I was in Japan. It was great! Can't wait to hopefully experience the real thing some day!

Seriously, I must like oriental women also as my daughter is half chinese-american. Her catonese mother was so beautiful, but my daughter.... She is proof looks could kill. She would be a good spy. But then I am biased.
