I was lucky enough to meet both of them years ago.

The younger Bush sometimes makes me ashamed to say I am republican. Apparently he did not get any of his dad's brains. It seems that ever since everyone joked about the vice president really running the country, that the decisions made since then in the whitehouse could be one day considered as suspect. Everything before that made real sense. It is a good thing he will not be running again. I kind of like Huckaby, but do not know enough yet about him.

Here's a few examples for you:

I honestly don't understand why people think they will get different results with Huckabee, or any of the other Republican candidates, for that matter. Their political positions and rhetoric are nearly identical to those of Bush. You would think that after the massive failure of this current administration, people would finally learn to stop voting for these people. I mean, you hear about how Rudy Giuliani wants to increase the size of the military (is that possible?) and continue the extraordinarily costly occupation of Iraq, all while cutting taxes. Is he nuts? We are already in massive debt, and are heading for a recession, thanks to Bush's policies. I can't even fathom how monumentally disastrous another Republican administration would be.

I take no credence to what is said in a wikipedia. Anyway. I have a daughter I did not know about till she was grown. I am glad her mother gave her up for adoption rather than having an abortion. She is a very special woman. I do think that abortion is a decision between a woman and her doctor, not the government. I am told that In China now abortion is required after you have your quota of children. I was a practicing methodist. They usually have different views than the Baptists. So far He seems to be level headed.
I think we should leave iraq and let all those bean brains kill themselves and then after they are all gone go back and pick up the pieces. At my former employer I had a boss who was from the middle east. Before he acquired his citizenship, he was so nice. Once he became naturalized, he was a real jerk (expletive deleted) and that is an understatement. On Sept 11 2001, he was watching TV (funny how he seemed to have brought a tv that morning) about what was going on in New York like it was a football game. As time went on he threated me and falsely accused me of all kind of crap. I was only the natively born American on the team. Everyone else was oriental or whatever. They kept promoting him because he had no ideas about computing. A true example of the "Peter Principle". Any other company would have a terminated him for his incompetence to begin with. Instead I was the one who was eventually crucified because I made a big deal out of the things he screwed up that caused problems not only for me but others. He had an msce certification, but we still had to show him things. Everyone else was afraid of him because he always got his way. I am a pacifist. What is going on in Cuba may not be right, but after what I have been through it is hard not to feel the need to kick some posterior.

You should have been around in '69/70 for the draft lottery. Student deferments were like gold. I had a friend who flunked out of a&m. Becuase of a low draft number, he joined up and got to go to Germany instead of Nam. He eventually did finish at Aggieland and now is supposedly an important architect in California.
