Interesting article. It's strange to me how people can be so belligerent to others over politics, especially when you deal with them on a face to face basis, and work with them. As you can tell by my posts I'm liberal, and I get the idea from your posts that you lean to the right. I have never met you or dealt with you on a face to face level, but it would never even enter my mind that I would want to bully or pressure you or anyone else into agreeing with my political views, or get angry that you didn't. I think people that behave in this extreme way have very narrow minds and must be very insecure about their own beliefs if it's that important to them that everybody they deal with share those same beliefs.

Its strange that something that's so fundamental to life that people get worked up about. I have friends from right to left and get on well with them.
We poke fun out of each others politics and no harm is caused. That should be part of any healthy friendship .

My views are way too the left so I immediately expect to not be taken seriously by the majority of people. I have been in political groups before, at the moment I am not in any . When I was not everything everyone agreed on, its just not possible.

As a conservative I have friends/family from a pretty wide spectrum of political beliefs. We don't always agree but we always respect each other and the right to voice an opinion. Agreeing to disagreeing is very important in democracy. How can we have a political discourse if we seek to gag people who we don't always agree with?
