New release of Frugalware

Ok - it is finally installed. I decided to try doing things "the arch way" instead, and just installed base, libs (not even sure I needed these) and network. It installed fine, I've upgraded to -current, and am installing kdebase as I type this. The boot splash is very nice!

OK - I have to say, so far this looks very nice - I still prefer rc.conf over this type of init system, but it's no big deal. I still wonder wtf was up with the installer, though.

Wow!

I really like the new frugalware! The last release I tried didn't have anywhere near this level of polish. This is damn fast. Maybe even faster than arch. The fonts are very nice OOTB (a very sore point for arch for some folks) which is great! All of the problems I had with the installer aside, I'd have to agree with Wally - this is a keeper distro. If you like the slacware /etc dir, you'd be ven happier than I am with it, I'm sure.

Yeah, I'm digging it as well, although it's not perfect. The Frugalware GUI Package Managar can be a bit clunky at times, and wireless support isn't where it should be. Nevertheless, it is a very fast, and well put together distro.
