i keep getting errors when i run any of these scripts on any HD shows that i try. the standard Def shows seem to work.

Code: Select all

[libx264 @ 0x9d145d0]using cpu capabilities: MMX2 SSE2Slow
[libx264 @ 0x9d145d0]Error: 2pass curve failed to converge
[libx264 @ 0x9d145d0]target: 480.00 kbit/s, expected: 693.36 kbit/s, avg QP: 31.0000
[libx264 @ 0x9d145d0]try increasing target bitrate or increasing qp_max (currently 31)
[libx264 @ 0x9d145d0]profile Baseline, level 2.2
[libfaac @ 0x9d37ad0]libfaac doesn't support this output format!
Error while opening codec for output stream #0.1 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height

What kind of capture device are you using?

My next question is are you doing OTA or QAM capture? What formats are the files? MPEG2 HD? Are you running Mythbuntu or something else. Let me check my setup to see if I compiled ffmpeg myself instead of the standard Ubuntu package.

i don't want you to waste too much time one this, it could be something i have done as i am still a Linux noob. i am not sure how to tell what mpg it is. here is what i know and an output from VLC about media info. if there is a command line option i can run for more detail, let me know.

anyway, mythbuntu 9.10, repo PPA enabled , qam256 cable
