Things not so rosey in the Kubuntu camp

Thats not too good. I just downloaded Kubuntu two days ago to try on my other hardrive to see what it is like. Hopefully things get worked out.

I'm probably biased, given that the lead (and paid) developer of Kubuntu is a friend of mine, but from all of the previous press from Canonical I think they have been very serious about pushing it through as a part of the Ubuntu family of distributions, even down to Mark Shuttleworth saying that he was using it.

I think this is a 'wait and see what happens when everything calms down' type situation.

That appears to be specific to kubuntu.de not the kubuntu project as a whole. However, I downloaded the flight6 iso twice recently, and can't get the damn thing to boot on a single machine I own - that's not so rosy IMO. Checked md5sums and everything. Quite odd.

In my experience Ubuntu is more stable than Kubuntu. On my laptop I installed Ubuntu and then added the KDE packages. I've had no problems so far.
