Geek Pr0n

So we're thinking of doing a geek pr0n segment where listeners can show off their rigs. Post some pics and come on the show for a few minutes to talk about your setup. Any takers?

Mine would be pretty dull. Not much of note unless you like the old G3 Mac. I hate that blasted mouse that came with those things, but everything else isn't too bad. After reading about how someone with a brand new Vista machine was consuming 20% CPU just playing an MP3, it is fun to note that this ancient 233 MHz G3 from 1998 only uses 12% CPU doing the same. My current rig is without a respectable graphics card at the moment, so there's nothing exciting there at all. Sorry for the lack of excitement, there.

Honestly, I'd be interested in how people make a computer look decent. My box is just an Antec Sonata, and isn't very attractive just sitting there on the floor. If someone has some fun way to hide their hardware or just make it look decent without spending a ton of money, that would be more interesting to me than anything. With Linux, I don't need much horsepower to do what I want, I just want it to achieve the critical "Wife Approval Factor" that doesn't come so easily.

I'd hope you mean hardware pr0n, geek pr0n sounds like something Vivid Entertainment would do ...

Well, my room contains just about 10 computers, plus all my gaming consoles, I guess I could talk about those, if I can remember to make Amarok wake me up! :P
