My geeky Christmas wish list

It's Christmas season and we're busy buying gifts for our friends and loved ones. What geeky gifts would you like to receive? I'll start:

network switch - for my HTPC setup
20" LCD monitor - besides my laptop I don't have an LCD monitor (I'm cheap)

I want a netbook. If I was buying it myself it would be the EEE 900HA, cause I'm cheap. If I was getting it as a gift, it would be the Samsung NC10 (8 hours battery life baby).

All I wish for xmas is a free Redhat training class such as rh033 or rh133.

Netbook for me. I REALLY like the HP Mini 1000. I got to play with that, along with a bunch of other netbooks at Best Buy. The HP Mini 10" is actually still quite small enough to keep me interested, and it performed decently when I played with it. All of these had XP, so I figure if these can perform well with XP, then they should fly with GNU/Linux (which is what I want preinstalled whenever I get mine). I didn't like either the Eee PC 90x or the 100x. The former is just TOO small for me (painfully small keys), and the latter just felt too rigid when using the trackpad buttons. They also had an MSI Wind that was really nice, but seeing as how MSI is giving GNU/Linux the finger, I won't be supporting them.

The Acer Aspire One and the Dell IM9 are still tops in my book, but after playing with the 10-inchers, I might have to pass these two up since the dimensions for these 8.9-inchers are close to that of the 10-inch models. Maybe once they get rid of that excess bezel and add more screen, I might give those a go.

The tiny size is what I really like about the EEE 900. I don't touch type, so the small keyboard doesn't bother me. Plus, even though the EEE 900 is small it has a 4 cell battery with a life of 3-4 hours. That's better than others like the Aspire One that has a 3 cell with 2-3 hours life.

Love my 6 cell Acer Aspire one. I get about 5-6 hours life with it doing normal use. Found a couple online places selling 9 cell batteries for it for around $80 or so. Might get one eventually, but the 6 cell is working well enough for my use.

Running Ubuntu 8.04.1 on it right now. Tried the Ubuntu Netbook Remix and it is nice, but I prefer the normal desktop.
