Opera browser celebrates 15 years

Yesterday, the Opera browser had a birthday. It was fifteen years, April 1994, ago yesterday that a web browser which later became the Opera browser began. Since then the audience has grown–40 million people currently use the web browser which was first developed so long ago.
The Opera browser began as a new project between two computer scientists. One of those scientists, Jon von Tetzchner, later became the CEO of Opera Software while the second person was Geir Ivarsoy. Since then a single browser engine has been created to allow Opera to be used on multiple platforms and devices.
It must be quite enjoyable for the two original scientists which created Opera to see how far it has come. I’m sure never in their wildest dreams did they imagine the Internet as we know it today. Honestly, they probably never imagined a browser capable of what Opera is today as well.
