I get the impression that linux cannot use the IR Blaster in the Hauppauge 1212 yet. HD-PVR IR blaster (sigh)
I am just going to hang tight for now. I ordered a couple of HP IR receivers and they appear to have a spot to plug in an IR blaster. When they come in I will try again using those rascals.

Re: HD-PVR IR Blaster
Jarod Wilson (of Mythdora fame) got the PVR-1212's irblaster tentatively working back in early September:

I'm not sure if his patches have made it into the mainline code yet. It's only a matter of time.

Re: HD-PVR IR Blaster
Based on this message it sounds like the patch hasn't made it into the mainline MythTV code yet:

It does sound like Jarod is planning on including them in the next Mythdora release which should be coming out very soon. Fedora12 was just released yesterday.

Re: HD-PVR IR Blaster
Unless you're using Fedora 12 you'll have to do some compiling on your own to get the IR blaster working. The wiki has been updated with instructions:

I'm sure by the next release of Mythbuntu and LinHES this will be supported out of the box.
