New Spin on Classic Video Game

Just came across this fun little game for your Linux box (works great on my UD/Arch system - simply unzip and run the script).

It's called Invasion 3D. It's a clone of the classic game, ''Space Invaders'' but with some enhancements and tweaks.

Everything is designed into 3D style blocks and shapes, you get different gun types and shields.

What I find really cool is when you blast the bonus alien that streaks along the top of the screen every so often. When it explodes you go into "bullet time" and a blast wave takes out several other alien ships to help you along.

It's a simple game, but is great for a 5 minute filler as you're burning a CD or waiting for something to download.

Cool game. I'd imagine it would be pretty slow without 3D acceleration.
