What MP3 player you guys use ?

Can someone here who runs tell me what mp3 player you guys recommend ? Now I am using the iriver T30 for my daily runs and while it does have it warts and quirks it does it's job, but it's getting old and I am looking to get something new. Any recommendations ?

well, I got a Samsung YP-C1, it plays OGG's but I wouldnt recomend it. I have had a few problems with HIGH quality OGG's. but 99% of the oggs I have used work, but some have crashed the player. plus the user interface seems a little off, example it beeps when you start up the player, but if you set system beep off, it still beeps

... I had a problem with the format on the player too, but have not tested it with the latest firmware so I dont know if it still happens, but I had to flash the player to get it to work under linux again

I wish I would have gotten the iaudio 5 or the iaudio G3, but got the YP-c1 because my last play iriver ifp899 the little "joystick" broke off, but wouldnt play most OGG podcasts anyway.

This is off the topic of the type of mp3 player you're looking for. But I just bought a cheapy $30 car mp3 player that plugs into the cigarette lighter and transmits to the FM radio, so no wires. It has 0 built in memory and instead uses your own usb stick, which actually makes it alot easier to use. The sound quality isnt the greatest with the FM transmitter... a little hiss and the music sounds noticably muddied, but for an easy way to listen to podcasts in the car it's great and really cheap. I found mine on ebay... and no, its not me or any one I know selling these... I'm not trying to spam...

I still like my iAudio X5L although it feels somewhat out of date. I really hope that COWON makes a successor because for it's time the iAudio X5 was an awesome audio player but now better things are coming along. The COWON A2 is really nice, I convinced a friend to buy it and he loves it (I hear there's a new one coming out soon too) but if you're not going to use it for video it might be a little big for you.

The new flash devices COWON has been putting our are really nice if you don't need much storage. The iRivers also look pretty good but the Linux support from what I hear is not the best.

My control stick has never broken but it came with a defect and I had to send it back twice but after that it worked fine and has stayed that way. Some other people have reported problems with their control stick but this doesn't seem to be a high percentage. Mine feels the same as the day I got it I think.

Huh - for some reason I thought you'd gotten a blinky stick. Well, that's cool that it's working well for you. I'm still not sure wtf I'm going to do when my oldass iPod dies. I'd really feel crappy giving apple money for a device that they try so hard to keep me from enjoying, but DAMN do the new iPod Videos look nice. Even my wife's older one is a lot nicer than most stuff I see out there in that form factor. It doesn't look like neuros is ever going to release a revision to their current brick.

I got a Cowon iAudio5 last year; flash, 512MB, plays ogg, has an FM receiver, mic for recording. I like it. Cowon products often finish 2nd to the iPods in the reviews. Since I won't by an iPod, Cowon was a the perfect choice for me.

I use my nokia 770 as my ogg / mp3 player. So no problem on this end.

I have. Doom is great for bragging rights but the controls were obviously not designed for it. There are some other neat apps but most of them I rarely ever use. Frozen Bubble is one of the only reasons I still have it on my iAudio (I dual boot). Rockbox offers some advanced things that the stock firmware doesn't but the interface is pretty bad unfortunately. The default firmware runs and looks great and I think uses less battery too (alhough this might have changed with new builds, Im not sure) so that's what I mainly use. Although development on Rockbox has been moving pretty fast so maybe it will soon be better.
