USB Phones

Hi everyone,

I was just wandering whether anyone else on here uses a USB phone for their VoIP calls on their linux boxes? And if so, which one's you were using.

I recently bought one (only a really cheap one), and although the audio works fine - the buttons on the phone don't work when it's connected to my CentOS machine.

Wow! I didn't even know any worked (in any capacity)! Which one are you using?

The phone I have is called 'E-310-U'. There's no other branding on it at all, and there's nothing on the packaging to hint as to the manufacturer.

I had the same dilema thats why I went and shell out 220 dls on a Netgear skype cellphone which doesnt have any conection or dependency to a laptop.

I found that in a linux-based network is just better to get those convertors to use your regular phone.

One thing that often stops people taking full advantage of VoIP is the idea of swapping or replacing their normal phone. Well with the Skype certified uConnect you dont have to, you can simply plug it into the USB port into your computer, a regular phone and the wall socket and there you have it Skype calls are yours!
