That was festival using one of the mbrola voices, us1 I believe.

i installed festival on debian, and there one voice to only choose from so i installed
Finnish female and Italian female, there speak with native vowel, so "hello" sounds sexy lol, the mbrola voices seem to be closed source, so its not on debian, even the non-free part , i think you use ubuntu, mayeb those non-free voices come with it, if not, how did you install them, i am using the command line, i like the way lisp works

I installed a Czech language , which sounds neat, i also tried eSpeak which is not too bad.

I got festival installed on FreeBSD, it was not as straight forward, i had to install another package, fortunately there was a package for that so no compiling. I got mbrola voices, us1 to work , but the Italian female voice package did not install, so i tried the port, that compiled gcc 2.95 heh then it complained an older package was installed and stopped,
I just removed gcc 2.95 and trying to look for the other packages installed, anyone know where the freebsd ports log files are kept so i can find what was last installed.
I found nothing but other logs in /var/logs/

Gentoo has a nice app called genlop that parses portage log-files for information such as how long something took to compile,. when it was installed etc, i am looking for something like that on Freebsd and debian.
